A client of mine signed up for an online Abraham Hicks workshop after hearing me talk about it.
She was excited. She even submitted a question ahead of time, hoping to get called on live.
She didn't get picked.
Which happens — they get thousands of questions, and not everyone can get an answer in real time. No big deal.
After it wrapped, she told me she didn't get picked. I was bummed for her. So I asked her the obvious thing: well, did you get what you needed anyway?
She said no.
Then I Watched the Replay
The next day I'm listening to the same workshop on replay. And the exact thing she'd asked about? It came up in the teachings.
Not once. Three times.
So I texted her. Were you multitasking when you watched it?
She was.
Fitting it in. Half-listening while she did other things. Present, but not really present.
She was in the room and still missed the very thing she came for.
Why This Stuck With Me
Because this is what almost everyone does with personal development.
We consume it on 2x speed. We listen to the podcast while we answer emails. We watch the workshop with one eye on our phone.
We try to squeeze it in,
And then we wonder why nothing changes.
It's not that the information isn't good. What she needed was right there in the teaching — three times over. She just wasn't in a state to receive it.
So I Told Her to Watch It Again
Really watch it this time. No multitasking. No half-attention. Just her and the replay.
And she came back with notes.
So many takeaways. The guidance she'd come for, plus a dozen things she'd looked right past the first time.
Same workshop. Same replay. The only thing that changed was that she actually took it in.
That's the difference between the women who consume endlessly without results and the ones who transform.
It was never about access to more. It was about actually absorbing what's already in front of you.
So this week, pick one thing. A podcast, a book, a workshop you already paid for.
And take it in for real. Phone down. Full attention. Like it matters... because it does.
Reply and tell me — what's the one you keep half-listening to that it's time to actually sit with?
I want to know.
TLDR: Slow down. You can't absorb a download while you're answering emails, folding laundry, and half-listening on 2x speed.
